PROJECT CONTEXT
AgiNtech supported Air Liquide Belgium in the modernization of the industrial water clarification system at the Charleroi plant.
The objective: improve the performance, reliability and safety of the installation while reducing its environmental footprint.
THE MISSION
The project was structured around two main areas:
- DCS integration: replacing the existing local PLC with an integrated and centralized solution.
- Infrastructure modernization: transforming a container into a fully functional local water treatment unit, in partnership with Cube Inc., for the preparation and storage of injection products.
A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH
This project mobilized a wide range of expertise:
- Instrumentation: installation of sensors and equipment to ensure precise monitoring of key parameters.
- Electrical engineering: design and implementation of power cabinets adapted to the new requirements.
- Mechanical engineering: integration of new systems within a constrained existing environment.
- Water treatment: overall performance improvement of the clarification process.
THE CHALLENGE: TRANSFORMING A “BLACK BOX”
One of the greatest challenges was to completely rethink a Black Box-type system and design a comprehensive solution from the ground up.
Through a rigorous process of analysis and design, AgiNtech – in close collaboration with Alessandro Cannas, project manager at Air Liquide – was able to deliver a robust, reliable and tailored solution for Air Liquide’s needs.
AGINTECH’S ADDED VALUE
- Recognized expertise in power cabinet design.
- Thorough preparation of interventions, ensuring smooth execution.
- Meticulous delivery, with the highest technical and quality standards.
RESULTS
The new system provides Air Liquide Belgium with a safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly installation. This modernization paves the way for optimized operation and enhanced control of industrial water treatment processes.
