COOKIES POLICY

This cookie policy describes the types of cookies and similar tracking technologies we use on the www.agintech.eu website (the “Site”), the purposes for which we use each cookie, how you can disable and enable the use of certain cookies and the consequences of disabling them.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small data file placed on your computer or other device to enable a website to recognise you as a user when you return to the website using the same computer and web browser, either for the duration of your visit (using a “session cookie”) or for repeated visits (a “persistent cookie”). Other similar files work in the same way and we use the word “cookie” in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way.

Cookies have a number of different uses, for example, they can help you navigate between pages efficiently and store your preferences. Cookies also help website operators to identify which content is most popular and so enable them to improve their site and the services they offer to users.

There are various types of cookies and tracking technologies, which can be divided into the following four categories:

  • Those that are strictly necessary (for example, cookies that allow you to move around a website);
  • Those that improve the functionality of our Site by storing your preferences (for example, cookies that remember you when you return to a website);
  • Those that improve the performance of a website to provide a better user experience; and
  • Those used for advertising or monitoring purposes.

First and third party cookies

The categories of cookies listed above may be set directly by us on our Site during your visit (known as “first party cookies”). However, some cookies in these categories may also be set and/or read by third party websites that we authorise to run the content of some of the pages you visit (known as “third party cookies”). For example, we use Lead forensics cookies to help us monitor traffic to our Site, which allows us to improve its performance. We may also use third party cookies to help us improve the functionality of our Site, including by integrating our Site with social media platforms provided by third parties.

What cookies and other tracking technologies do we use?

We use a first party cookie, called _lfuuid. The cookie is accepted or declined by selecting the relevant option in the consent banner that will appear upon your first visit to our website. The cookie allows a website to track visitor behavior on the sites on which the cookie is installed. The cookie is persistent for 1 year before it expires.

Cookie Method of acceptance Purpose Type Expiry
_lfuuid Consent Banner The _lfuuid cookie allows a website to track visitor behavior on the sites on which the cookie is installed. First Party Persistent 1 year
_ga_8VJMKXV3G9 Consent Banner This cookie is used by Google Analytics to persist session state. First Party 2 years
_ga Consent Banner This cookie name is associated with Google Universal Analytics – which is a significant update to Google’s more commonly used analytics service. This cookie is used to distinguish unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. It is included in each page request in a site and used to calculate visitor, session and campaign data for the sites analytics reports. First Party 2 years
_GRECAPTCHA Consent Banner Google reCAPTCHA sets a necessary cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) when executed for the purpose of providing its risk analysis. Third-party 6 months

How to limit, avoid or delete cookies

Some features of this site rely on the use of cookies.

Strictly necessary and/or functional cookies and to a certain extent performance cookies do not require consent. For the other categories of cookies and in particular advertising and/or tracking cookies, your consent is required to place the cookies.

The cookie banner allows you to give, refuse or withdraw your consent at any time, either globally or category by category.

Among other possibilities, you are invited to use the “private browsing” mode available on the main browsers on PCs or mobiles (including Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera). Browsing information (passwords, cookies, forms, cached content and various histories) will then be erased when you close your browser. This possibility therefore allows you to leave no trace of your browsing on your computer (or other mobile device) once it is over. In particular, it does not prevent the deposit and reading of cookies during browsing, nor does it erase the traces left during your previous surfing sessions.

To do this, you can use other tools provided by the browsers.

Thus, in the configuration settings of your browser, you can permanently authorise or refuse the future recording and reading of cookies on or from your device. The granularity of the choices offered (third-party cookies, first-party cookies, retention period, etc.) depends on the browser and operating system used. This action does not affect the information already stored. It may, however, impact the connection data to certain sites, prevent the execution of certain functionalities and require a reconnection/re-identification with these sites.

Finally, still in the configuration settings, you can also delete, on request, the navigation data already present on your device (including cookies). Depending on the browser, it will be possible to delete data according to their age, nature and/or the site visited. Not all browsers allow you to view the details of the cookies stored or to delete them individually.

To help you manage these cookies and other tracers and limit infringements of your privacy, you can install extensions and add-ons on your computer that are available from your browser. Examples include ‘Cookie Manager’ (by Rob W) on Firefox, ‘Privacy Badger’ (by EFF) on Opera, Chrome and Firefox, ‘uBlock Origin’ (by R. Hill) and ‘Ghostery’ on Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Edge and Safari.

Ghostery belongs to the category of ad blockers. As such, this extension prevents the execution of certain scripts that otherwise represent a danger to the user’s privacy (cookies, social network buttons, depending on the settings chosen). Ad blockers also exist for mobiles in the form of apps such as ‘AdBlock’ (by Betafish – not to be confused with AdBlock Plus) and ‘AdLock’ for Android or ‘1Blocker X’ for iOS.

On mobile devices (Android and iOS), the user may consider installing an additional, more privacy-oriented browser such as ‘DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser’, ‘Ghostery Privacy Browser’, ‘Brave’ or ‘Firefox Focus’.

Although its presence on the web is diminishing every day, it is worth mentioning the ‘Flash Player’ used within web pages to view multimedia content. The cookies resulting from its use are not visible to the browser, which can neither manage nor delete them. However, due to the technology used (local shared objects), they have a greater potential to infringe on privacy. Confidentiality settings are made via a specific application available on the Adobe website.

Advertising networks have come together to create the “your online choices” platform, which allows certain behavioural advertising preferences to be defined centrally.
